First-Year Student Scholarships
Merit-Based Scholarships and Awards
At Westminster, your success is recognized. Your academic achievements—measured by difficulty of course work,
grades, and entrance exams (ACT or SAT) along with recommendations and extracurricular activities—indicate
your future success at Westminster and beyond.
When you apply and are admitted to Westminster College, you are
automatically considered for merit-based scholarships. This includes international students.
The college invests—through scholarship awards—in students who carry a high school GPA of 3.0 or higher;
score well on the ACT or SAT; and who are hardworking, determined, open-minded, caring, and ambitious. Westminster
you meet with an admissions counselor, as it helps complete the picture for both the student and the college.
Annual amounts for these awards vary. These awards are renewable for students who maintain good academic standing and

Additional Institutional Scholarships
In addition to merit- and income-based awards, Westminster offers some select talent scholarships. Theatre, music, athletic, computer
science, and dance scholarships
are available through interviews, auditions, competitions, or tryouts. Visit the scholarship's webpage for more information.
Honors College Scholarship
The Honors College does everything in its power to support incoming
Honors students' quest for other forms of monetary support. First-year students are eligible for the Honors Academic Excellence Scholarship, which is awarded to students who show particular promise and interest in academic excellence, campus leadership, and visibility—and who demonstrate a good fit with the unique learning approach of Honors.
External scholarships are offered by a number of agencies, and many students receive more than 1 outside
scholarship. Some popular websites to use to find outside scholarships include FinAid's SmartStudent Guide to Financial Aid
and Fastweb's online scholarship resource. Westminster's financial aid Facebook page is also
a good place to find new scholarship opportunities and helpful tips.
