"The program is challenging, rewarding, and totally doable. As a working mother, I have been able to maintain part-time status while making every basketball game and mommy-me swim lessons. Going back to school has worked into our lives almost seamlessly and given me a great sense of accomplishment. Exceptional attention is provided to students, and the faculty have a vested interest in your success."

About the Program

A Little One-on-One Interaction Goes a Long Way

That’s why our professors get to know every student and make themselves available on a daily basis for questions and further discussion. Graduates step into the job market highly qualified and experienced, ready to establish therapeutic relationships, analyze healthcare policy, and combine theory with evidence to improve patient outcomes.

Our faculty offer current, real-world insight into current practices, policies, and challenges because they are practitioners themselves.

What You'll Learn

  • Course schedules accommodate students’ working schedules to make it easier to pursue their studies.
  • Students learn to read and interpret medical journals and studies to stay current and continue lifelong learning.
  • Opportunities to serve in rural and underserved areas help students see the issues facing these communities, like lack of preventative care and high cost of medication.
  • Students develop not only awareness of health issues but also the compassion that comes with clinical experience in the community.
  • Students and faculty work together to arrange clinical experiences aligned with their interests in highly reputable facilities.

Plan of Study

Graduates generally pursue licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) after taking their board exams. Licensing requirements vary by state. To become licensed as an APRN in Utah, students must apply with the Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing.
