VitalSource E-Book Platform
Many publishers have teamed up with VitalSource to offer free access to their books until May 25, 2020. Students and faculty can create an account with their Westminster email address to log in to the VitalSource bookshelf and access the content library.
RedShelf E-Book Platform
Many publishers have teamed up with RedShelf to offer free access to their books until May 25, 2020. Students can access up to 7 free e-books using their Westminster email address.
University of Michigan Press Open Access E-Books
University of Michigan Press Open Access e-books are available for free from the University of Michigan Press.
JSTOR worked with publishers to make more content available, including e-books. To access the content, search JSTOR. You can also view a list of publishers that are participating. This offer is available through June 30, 2020.
Kanopy has made some of their films available for free through May 31, 2020 (including titles from Collective Eye Films, Samuel Goldwyn Films, NYX Channel, First Run Features, and the Great Courses packages). If there are titles that are not immediately available, you can fill out the request form and include your course name and the date you need the film by. A step-by-step guide for adding a Kanopy in Canvas is available.
National Film Board of Canada
The National Film Board of Canada has over 3,000 films online. Many are available for free and many contain closed captioning. At this time, Westminster does not have a subscription for films that are beyond a paywall. The collection includes documentaries, feature films, animation, and short films. There is also a collection of films by Indigenous directors.
Music and Performing Arts Resources
Digital Concert Hall - Berlin Philharmonic
The Philharmonie Berlin is closed until April 19, however, the orchestra will continue to play in the Digital Concert Hall, free of charge. Visit the Digital Concert Hall website and use the code BERLINPHIL.
The Metropolitan Opera Nightly Opera Stream
The Metropolitan Opera is streaming performances at 7:30 p.m. nightly. Performances remain available for 20 hours. A list of upcoming performances is available in a press release.

Oxford University Press has a resource page for faculty preparing to teach online courses. It includes content about online resources and access to 2 online training programs about teaching online.
Poll Everywhere is offering a free 90-day trial to educators transitioning to online classes.
Kahoot! is a game-based learning platform, used as an educational technology in schools and other educational institutions. Its learning games, “Kahoots,” are multiple-choice quizzes that allow user generation and can be accessed via a web browser or the Kahoot app. Kahoot! Premium, an enhanced version of Kahoot!, is free for higher education during the COVID-19 outbreak.
