Marco Barker

Marco Barker, PhD

Associate Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Chief Diversity Officer

Dr. Barker oversees the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) and serves as the chief diversity officer for Westminster College. In his role, he provides direct supervision of DEI and provides leadership on Westminster’s strategy for bolstering diversity, advancing equity, and enhancing inclusion across the institution. Dr. Barker’s research, publications, and consultations address cross-race mentoring and advising relationships, doctoral education, diversity, and leadership in higher education. He earned his undergraduate degree in industrial engineering from the University of Arkansas, his MBA from Webster University, and his PhD in educational leadership and research from Louisiana State University. He currently serves as co-chair of the human resource committee of the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity in Higher Education’s National Advisory Council, a board member of the University of Arkansa’s Black Alumni Association, and as a lifetime member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated.

Tamara Stevenson

Tamara Stevenson, PhD

Faculty Fellow for Diversity and Inclusion
Associate Professor, Communication

Dr. Stevenson is currently serving as a faculty fellow for diversity and inclusion—a joint appointment with the Office of the Provost and the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. As a faculty fellow in DEI, Dr. Stevenson develops and coordinates campus-wide diversity education opportunities for Westminster, in addition to supporting special programs within DEI. Her projects have included coordinating the Bastian Diversity Lecture Series and the annual MLK Celebration. Her scholarly interests focus on the intersecting roles of race, gender, and class impacting participation in higher education, issues of access and marginalization relating to faculty and curricular diversity, and the function of communication in teaching and learning. A proud Michiganian, Dr. Stevenson earned her BA and MA from Wayne State University, and her EdD from Eastern Michigan University.

Diego Moscoso

Diego Moscoso, Junior

Administrative Coordinator

Diego was born in Peru where he spent the first eight years of his life. He then moved to Park City, Utah when he was eight years old and has lived there ever since. Diego is now a junior at Westminster College, studying for an international business major and a Spanish minor. Currently, he works as the office administrator in the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion office. He helps with everything around the office, with a focus on accounting and financial transactions, managing supply usage and orders, entering data and evaluations, and mail and information distribution.

Shantay Earl

Shantay Earl, First-year

Communications Coordinator

Shantay Earl serves as the communications coordinator for the Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion. Her role as the communications coordinator is to get the word out about diversity and inclusion opportunities on campus and in the community. As the Communications Coordinator, Shantay posts stories and events on social media involving diversity. Alongside her work in the DEI office, Shantay is also a neuroscience major and music and pre-med minor. Shantay wishes to go into medical school and become a doctor after her years at Westminster. She would love to continue the work that she does in the DEI office to create a better community around her.
